Marcel Beyer was born in 1965, grew up in Kiel and Neuss, and has lived in Dresden since 1996. He writes novels, poems, essays, libretti. In 2020 his poetry collection Dämonenräumdienst (Berlin: Suhrkamp) was published, for which he was awarded the Peter Huchel Prize in 2021. Also published in 2020, edited together with Frieder von Ammon, Peer Trilcke, and Gabriele Wix, was the edition: Thomas Kling: "Werke in vier Bänden " (Berlin: Suhrkamp), in which all facets of the work of the exceptional poet Thomas Kling, who died in 2005 at the age of 47, are fanned out for the first time on 2,600 pages - all poems and essays published during his lifetime, plus poems and essays from his estate, texts for setting to music, and an early theater work.
