Kirchner Hochtief is a music artist collective around frontman David Julian Kirchner that combines high culture and underground.
David Julian Kirchner studied pop music design. He describes his music as "bulky, private and caustic". With the care of a driven man, he begins to deconstruct what has hounded and hounded him all his life. Piece by piece, he dissects the guiding culture of his youth to display them side by side: Symbols, fragments, identities; pop music not as an effective intoxication, but as a museum-like staging.
Over all this hovers Kirchner's life crisis, his leitmotif: the clash of pop and high culture. He stages one as the other and knows that in the end there will only be losers.
