Born in 1979 in Israel.
With degrees in Classical Guitar and Composition from the prestigious Giuseppe Verdi Milan Conservatory and hundreds of shows on electric guitar around Europe with his various projects, Yair Karelic is a highly experienced performer and qualified tutor in guitar, songwriting, theory, harmony and composition. Having shared stages with artists such as Eagles Of Death Metal, Spectrum, Dum Dum Girls, Dwarves, Dream Wife and more.
Yair’s knowledge and experience merge in an exciting and complex way of unfolding the secrets and peculiarities of songwriting and music production. He is now signed with his band City At Dark (Former RÁN) to the 8MM Musik label and is on the roster of the DQ Agency alongside artists including The Raveonettes, Candice Gordon, Dream Wife and more.
Yair and his partner in City At Dark, Laura Landergott (Ja, Panik) are currently preparing their first album to follow up on their acclaimed debut EP Hunt Like Lions, which originally caught the attention of the DQ Agency.
Aside from his work in popular music, Yair Karelic has also served as the personal assistant to Luca Francesconi, one of today’s most important contemporary classical composers, transcribing a number of Francesconi’s works to their final layout for publishing by BMG Music.
He composed as well original soundtracks for theatere works by Sanchís Sinisterra, Xavier Albertí und Juan Diego (Barcelona / Madrid 2004 - 2006).
