Since 2005 various releases, first under the name Phon°noir, from 2008 as Telekaster. Several albums and EPs on the labels Quatermass, Sub Rosa, Lona Rec and Panic Arrest. In 2014 the EP The Longest Year In History was released on Audiobulb Records, for the first time under the name Matthias Grübel.

Since the 2007/08 season, theater music for more than 50 productions, including at the Schaubühne Berlin, Maxim Gorki Theater, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspielhaus Graz, Théâtre National de Strasbourg, as well as at the state theaters in Dresden, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Mainz. The world premiere of Am Königsweg (Schauspielhaus Hamburg, 2017), directed by Falk Richter with music by Matthias Grübel, was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen and voted production of the year in the Theater Heute critics' poll.

Radio play works for Schauspielhaus Graz, WDR, Bayerischer Rundfunk and SWR. Radio play CD release Moon Tele Vision (with Jörg Albrecht) on Intermedium Rec (2009).

In addition, soundscapes for installations have been created from time to time in recent years. For example in collaboration with Michel Auder (music for Trumped, Martos Gallery NY, 2018).
