Katy Derbyshire has lived in Berlin for a quarter of a century and is a translator. She translates contemporary German literature into English, including Olga Grjasnowa, Heike Geißler, and Clemens Meyer. For her translation of Clemens Meyer's novel Im Stein, she received the Straelen Translation Prize of the Kunststiftung NRW in 2018. She has served on several literary prize juries and leads workshops for aspiring translators. She also manages the English-language imprint V&Q Books of the Voland & Quist publishing house and explores past women as part of the Berlin-based Dead Ladies Show.
