Between camp and conceptual art, the gay, German-Turkish performance duo Çakey Blond develops projects together in a longstanding friendship that are conceptually challenging, mercilessly personal and politically analytical at the same time. In doing so, they understand specific pop cultural and mass media phenomena as mirrors of socio-political conditions. From their marginalized position, they use show-aesthetic, performative, and autobiographical strategies as empowerment and subversion to potentially question any habitual certainties (especially of art).
