Slow Reading Club

Slow Reading Club is a semi-fictional reading group initated by Bryana Fritz and Henry Andersen in late 2016. They deal in constructed situations for collective reading. If reading is ‘performed’ might it also be choreographed, and might such choreographies provide an escape from the strictly rational model of reading as the transfer of information? SRC looks at, probes and interrupts ‘readership’ as a way to simulate the contact zone between reader and text, text and text, reader and reader.

Slow Reading Club (Henry Andersen & Bryana Fritz) formed in 2016, via a .pdf manifesto written in a bar in the south of Brussels. Their output takes the form of large-scale collective reading sessions, publications of bootlegged texts, exhibtions, unauthorised translations and a still in progress road novel.
