Ulrich Harteisen


Ulrich Harteisen teaches as professor for regional management and regional geography at the HAWK Faculty of Resource Management in Göttingen and heads the research group Rural Areas and Village Development.
His special research interests are in the field of transformation processes in rural areas, while he pursues not only scientific findings but also concrete approaches to practical solutions. Prior to his professorship in 2003, he already worked as a freelance environmental planner and regional developer. As part of the Droste Festival 2022 on the topic of City/Countryside in Flux, Professor Ulrich Harteisen will discuss the future in the countryside as part of the discussion panel The Smart Countryside.
