Nesrin Tanç is a freelance literary and cultural scholar, author and co-founder of KuKstDu e.V. (Art and Cultural Studies Duisburg). In her research she reconstructs the cultural history of the immigration society. In her dissertation The Order of Diversity. Ruhr Area Literature Based on the Works of Fakir Baykurt, Kemal Yalcın, Rauf Ceylan, and Emine Sevgi Özdamar, she examined the work of literary figures who emigrated from Turkey, Anatolia, or Mesopotamia to Germany and, in particular, to the Ruhr area in the 1970s to 1990s. She presents her creative works under the labels Agentur Ausländerrauş (read: Ausländerrausch) and Anatolpolitan.
In 2019, she conceived and realized the production of the first literary map to the stories of the author Fakir Baykurt. In 2020, she was a guest fellow of PACT Zollverein. In 2021 she wrote a study for the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations about the culture of memory of the so-called guest workers* from Turkey.
