Lea Schneider, born in 1989, lives in Berlin as an author, translator, literary scholar and critic after extended stays in China and Taiwan. Her literary work moves between poetry, essay, and translation, preferring to mix all three forms into something new. At the FU Berlin, she researches Radical Vulnerability as an emancipatory writing strategy in social media. As a critic, she writes for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Deutschlandfunk Kultur, among others. Her translations of contemporary Chinese poetry into German have been awarded a scholarship by the German Translator Fund and the Poetry East West Translation Award. Her most recent publications include Made in China (2020), Gesellschaft für Flugversuche (2019), Chinabox. New Poetry from the People's Republic (2016), Invasion Backwards (2014).
