Welcome to Hell is a participatory project. It is about the question of how we cope with the challenges of everyday life and the crises in the world. It is also about the question of whether there is a "new normality" that we have to face up to. Can art help us with this? What artistic strategies are suitable for dealing with reality? We want to develop ideas together on how we can live better in these uncertain and threatening times.
The workshop for the project will take place at Burg Hülshoff on 19 July. The workshop will be led by the actor and dancer David Guy Kono, the trombonist and actor Helmut Buntjer and the media artist Anja Kreysing. The workshop participants will be able to try out a wide range of artistic techniques from theatre, performance, video, sound and music. The result will be a show of music, dance and text. Everyone is invited to take part: professional artists, amateurs and interested parties.
The show will be rehearsed on Tuesday, 23 July and a public performance will take place in the outer bailey on Long Friday, 26 July.

You do not need any experience in theatre, performance, video, sound or music to take part in the workshop.
If you wish, you can bring your own instruments, sound generators or sound objects. The same applies to suitable digital devices for recording - from mobile phones and tablets to laptops.
